The Blessing of Being Single by Airah Joyce Paredes

the blessing of being single

nowadays, girl-boy relatioship is a trend…almost everyone is getting into a relationship without commitment. they might say that they’re committed to each other, but i have a question, you have committed to whom or to what?? to the person or to the physical intimacy that you’re yearning for?? for me people who commit to this thing are beclouded and blinded by the world’s presentation of this kind of relationship. sadly young people see it as right and usual.. by the way right and good is different from each other…
i am not saying that it is a bad thing, but if one would scrutinize every side of it it got lot of flaws-i am not saying that staying single is perfect. my point here is having a boyfriend or girlfriend snatches away the time you must be growing in faith, serving God, being productive and cultivating the talents that God has given you… it doesn’t mean that you’ll seclude your life from having an intimate relationship with others–you can be intimate with other people, to your friends, to your family of faith..intimacy without lust…in this way you can be patient in God’s time…let us always remeber that everything have perfect timing- i am really against to the advertisement that says "life can’t wait"- how can you have the right and good choice if you were impatient..we should not put everything in our hands let us not be hesitant to consult everything to God-especially if you weren’t sure if it will work…maybe some will see this ridiculous or what but i am saying this because this is what i see…it is really frustrating i must say…let us keep in our minds that the joy of intimacy is the reward of commitment…we must change our attitude of this kind of relationship, why not see others as our brothers or sisters instead of our future boyfriend of girlfriend.. in this way we will be building and growing for God;s Glory!!Let us be the pure generation!!
